Hi! The doctor’s appointment went well, but it was a little anticlimactic. First, I had my blood drawn. Then I had an ultrasound that was uneventful- everything looked fine. It’s a little hard to get used to the med students that come in to observe these procedures though. There was only one, but still… Then we went into another room and talked to the doctor and the nurse. Basically the doctor just told us everything looked good and we could go ahead and start the ovarian stimulation phase! Then he asked if we had any questions, but we couldn’t think of any! After that, we went into the nurse’s office and she showed us how to mix the medicine and put it into the syringe and then… I GOT MY FIRST SHOT!!! I thought they would show us how to do it and then we would start tomorrow, but we got to start today! That was really exciting! The next shot won’t be until tomorrow evening though. These shots go into the belly but there is one later on that will go into the bum (with a really long needle). It didn’t hurt too badly, but I am glad I have Tim to give them to me. The nurse gave me the shot today. On my way to school I thought I felt a couple of twinges where I think my ovaries are, but then I thought I was imagining it. I go back on Saturday for bloodwork an ultrasound. This is it! I have got to try not to obsess about it. I thought of a question though: why does the medicine have to be in injectible form? Why can’t it be made into a pill?

Tim had to give injections to a cat for several weeks and it’s actually about the same! The nurse showed him how today. :)
